About The Lee DeForest Suite

Lee DeForest 1873-1961, Antrim 1844’s owner Dort Mollett’s Great Uncle, was an American inventor, described as the “Father of Radio“ and a pioneer in the development of sound-on-film recording used for motion pictures. Over his lifetime he had 180 patents. In 1960, he was presented with an honorary Academy Award Oscar in recognition of his inventions which brought sound to motion pictures. Shortly before his death, he was honored with a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The Lee DeForest Suite offers a main floor haven with a Queen Four-poster Canopy Feather Bed, a corner jetted tub with a standing shower, a gas fireplace, and a sitting room, providing a comfortable and historic retreat for guests. The suite also grants access to the Carriage House’s large common area, serving as a welcoming gathering space featuring a grand piano, where guests can socialize and unwind.
