The Ice House Room

Set in the Formal Garden by the Pool, this private cottage invites you into a bygone era. The Ice House is an original building that supported the 19th-century estate. Perishable food was kept cool here in the warm months with large ice blocks placed in the cellar and covered with straw. The cool air circulated upstairs, making it the perfect place for afternoon tea during the summer!

Now transformed into a cozy retreat, this room at our Maryland hotel features a king four-poster canopy feather bed, a jetted tub, separate walk-in shower, and a in-bathroom wood-burning fireplace. This room is a guest favorite so be sure to make a reservation in advance.
