Emma Pense, Richard Mollett’s Great Aunt, was the first woman to ever achieve the rank of Colonel in the Canadian Army During WWIl she was in charge of the Canadian Army Nursing Corp. She was decorated by King George 5th five times. There is a hospital named after her in her hometown of Kingston, Ontario. Richard spent many of his early childhood summers at her home on Lake Ontario.
