About The Buford Suite

This suite at our Maryland hotel was named after General John Buford, cavalry commander at the Battle of Gettysburg. President Lincoln promoted him to Major General on his deathbed shortly after the war ended.

Situated in the Smith House’s English Basement, The Buford Suite, with a separate entrance, offers a king four poster bed, queen sleigh bed, tub/shower combination, and a flat-panel TV. Guests can also enjoy the house’s common area with a cozy fireplace. The suite accommodates up to 4 adults, ideal for a peaceful retreat.
