About The Buford Room

This room at our Maryland hotel was named after General John Buford, cavalry commander at the Battle of Gettysburg. President Lincoln promoted him to Major General on his deathbed shortly after the war ended.

Situated in the Smith House’s English Basement, The Buford Room, with a separate entrance, offers a queen sleigh bed, tub/shower combination, and a separate sitting area with a desk and flat-panel TV. Guests can also enjoy the house’s common area with a cozy fireplace. The room accommodates up to 2 adults, ideal for a peaceful retreat.
