This room at our Taneytown, MD hotel was named after Carroll County’s most celebrated Civil War hero, Lt. John E. Buffington of Co. C, 6th Maryland Infantry (1839-1915). He received the Congressional Medal of Honor as one of the bravest soldiers in the Army of the Potomac. He is buried at the Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery in Taneytown.
