The Rinehart Room

The Rinehart Room

William Rinehart (1825-1874) is said to be one of America's most important sculptors. Born in Union Bridge, Maryland, he studied at the Maryland Institute of Art and is credited with carving the identical white marble mantels in Antrim's drawing rooms. Because of his wonderful works in the classical style, Maryland Institute College of Art's Rinehart School of Sculpture was named for him.
