The Ice House Suite

The original outbuilding located in the formal gardens supported the original mid-19th century estate. Its purpose was to keep perishable food preserved in the summertime. This was accomplished by placing blocks of ice into the cellar underneath and covering them with straw. The cool air circulated upstairs, where in addition to keeping foods cold, afternoon tea could be enjoyed.

Set in the formal gardens by the pool.
