Built in 1844 by Colonel Andrew Ege from Antrim, Ireland. The land was a gift from his father-in-law Maj. John McKaleb. During the Civil War, the Cupola was used by Union General George Meade to observe the movement of the thousands of union troops. Purchased by the Clabaugh family in 1873, as a summer home. Harry Morris Clabaugh went on to become the Attorney General of Maryland in 1895 and was appointed Chief Justice of the Supreme Court by President Roosevelt in 1903. Upon his death the property was left to his daughter Helen and husband, Benjamin Paulding Lamberton. Opened as a Bed & Breakfast in 1988 after being masterfully restored by Richard & Dorothy Mollet.

Balconies with garden and town views. Wood-burning fireplace. Named after Francois Boucher, the 18th century French painter who is a distant relative of Richard.

Children 12 and over is welcome.
All rooms have clock radios, CD players and hair dryers.
To preserve the Country House atmosphere, there are no telephones in the individual guest rooms.
Only rooms where noted have televisions, Complimentary Wireless Internet access is available in all buildings except the Barn, Cottage and Ice House.
Wood-burning fireplace season is November through mid-April.

To help ensure that all of our guests have a pleasurable experience (due to allergies) we do not allow pets.
Reservation Deposit and Cancellation Policy

The deposit is non-refundable, but if you notify us ten days prior to your arrival date you can then transfer your deposit to another night's stay. If you cancel within ten days prior to your arrival date the deposit becomes non-transferrable. If you cancel within twenty-four hours from your arrival date, we reserve the right to charge the full night's stay if we are unable to book your room.
